Jordanian Doll in Colorful Cloth Costume

This 19" cloth doll from Jordan is dressed in a very colorful costume. Her black yarn hair is pulled back and tied with black yarn. The doll costume on this collectible doll consists of a long gold-colored gauzy head cloth trimmed with crochet. Her head cloth is held in place with a metal beaded chain with a pendant at the end, and she is wearing 2" long dangly metal earrings.

Her eyes and lips are beautifully embroidered. Her headdress is black and red and fairly stiff - it is decorated with metal coin-like pieces. Her cotton dress is red and black and heavily embroidered in many colors, and her shoes are black cotton. The sash around her middle feels like satin.

I bought this doll from a lady who lived in Egypt and Jordan and collected dolls during that time. I have listed one other doll from Jordan and two from Egypt. She thought they were 20 to 25 years old.

This vintage doll is in excellent condition. The only problem I see is a small hole in the back of her head scarf. This doll was displayed and not played with. It looks like it was handmade. Very unique and beautiful. Take a look at the pictures.
