Co-Boy Figurines by Goebel
These Co-Boys are from my personal collection
of Goebel figures. I am selling these Co-Boy figurines
at 70% of their 2002 book value.
Goebel and Hummel Trademarks
CoBoy figurines were made in Germany by Goebel Germany. These Goebel figurines
are highly collectible figurines of small elves and are noted for their beautiful
style and excellent handiwork, as are all Goebel porcelain items. These vintage
Goebel collectibles were produced between 1971 and 1987.
There are over 60 Co-Boys in this series. They were popular for awhile, and
Goebel produced a “second series” which featured smaller, less-detailed figures.
The price of Co-Boys dropped as the supply met the demand.
New collectors are entering the scene and beginning to collect the first
series of CoBoys. They come from the small town of Coburg, Germany. People there
had forgotten how to laugh. One day a resident had a very bright idea to recall
the forgotten world of make-believe, and Co-Boys were invented. They were
patterned after town residents, such as cooks, chefs, doctors, divers,
travelers, butchers, firemen, and so on. One to enrich each profession!
