Red Wing Commemorative - 1998 Miniature Iris Pitcher
This listing is for a 1998 Red Wing Collectors Society (RWCS) commemorative miniature
Iris pitcher in a blue glaze and the historical card that came with the commemorative.
These commemoratives are very hard to find!
The Iris pitcher was made in the 1930s and 1940s and was one of the last stoneware
pitchers made by the Red Wing potteries.
The 1998 Red Wing figurine commemorative were made by Western Stoneware of Monmouth,
Illinois. The commemorative pitcher holds 12 fluid ounces. The bottom of the pitcher
features "RWCS 1998" in raised letters and numerals around the perimeter with the
1998 convention logo stamped with blue ink in the center. The commemorative was
made in the stoneware style, thus they are relatively heavy with unglazed bottoms.
This item is from my personal Red Wing Pottery collection and is in perfect condition.
This vintage collectible is approximately 4-1/2" tall and 4-1/2" wide (counting
the handle).
