Goebel Co-Boy Figurine - Jim the Bowler 1975

Goebel and Hummel Trademarks

This CoBoy Goebel figurine is named Jim the Bowler - he is throwing a bowling ball. He is numbered 17-526-17, has the Goebel Germany trademark TMK6, is dated 1975, and is 7" tall. The original story card for this Goebel figure is included.

This Goebel collectible is from my personal collection and is in very good condition. He is not faded and has a clear name tag. There are no chips, cracks, paint flaws, or repairs in this Goebel porcelain elf figurine.

Here is the story of Jim the Bowler. Jim, the Ninepins player, was as a child a great fan of the marble sport. He was so skillful with the little marbles that he soon couldn't find any more opponents. He continued improving his techniques. He didn't try any longer to lodge the little marbles in a small hole, but aimed instead at small obstacles. He became more and more adept in skill and by chance he saw one day how three older Co-Boys aimed with a round ball at nine conically shaped objects. He got interested and tried it, too. In his very first game, he threw over all nine pins. He immediately became a member of the Ninepins team and eventually became Co-Boys-ville most successful Ninepins player.
