This stunning Taxco sterling silver turquoise and black enamel demi-parure consists
of a brooch (or pendant) and a pair of earrings. This set is early Mexico Taxco.
This item comes packaged in a beautiful gift box.
The pin has a secure and functioning pin closure and a loop to string a chain
through and wear as a pendant. The earrings are the screw-type.
These Taxco pieces are in excellent condition. The pin measures 1-1/2" across,
and the earrings are about 7/8" across. The enamel has no chips or flaws when examined
under a loupe.
Marked "JA" with the words "Sterling 925 Taxco Co." in a circle around those
initials.
Taxco is a town in the State of Guerrero in Mexico that is famous for its silver
jewelry production. The American silversmith William Spratling set up shop in Taxco
in 1929, and many other silversmiths followed. Early Taxco jewelry is avidly collected.
