Coro Demi-Parure - Lucite Thermoset Necklace and Clip On Earrings
This lovely vintage Coro necklace measures 16-7/8" long and 5/8" wide with a
fish hook clasp. The matching clip back earrings are 7/8" tall and 3/4" wide. Only
the earrings are signed, but this is definitely a set. It is very common with vintage
jewelry that only the necklace or the earrings were signed.
This lucite set is in excellent condition. The lucite is scratch free, and the
silvertone metal is very shiny. I don't see any problems at all!
Emanuel Cohn and Gerard Rosenberg opened a small shop in New York about 1900
selling jewelry and personal accessories, later becoming known as Coro. The
mark incorporates the first two letters of each partner's name. By the mid
1920's, Coro was the largest manufacturer of costume jewelry with a work force of
over 2,000. Coro went out of business in 1979 after 80 years of making costume jewelry.
