The embroidery on this single large vintage pillow case is beautiful and very unusual. I seldom see such large embroidered birds and flowers on a vintage pillowcase. The cotton used to make this vintage pillowcase is a very good quality - very smooth in texture.

This embroidered pillowcase was definitely made by hand, probably on a treadle sewing machine. I thought it was perfect and unused, but I went outside and held the pillowcase up to the light. I saw an area where there were some small holes, but there is a lot of use left in this pillowcase. It would also look good displayed on your bed or a guest bed. I have seen the embroidery work framed and made into beautiful pictures. Lots of possibilities!

I bought this vintage pillow case at an estate sale of a very old lady who made a lot of nice items.
