Antique Cast Iron German Christmas Tree Stand

The lady I bought this cast iron German Christmas tree stand from purchased it many years ago in Germany at a German Christmas Market. She said It was old when she purchased it 20 or 30 years ago.

I bought two of these Christmas tree stands from the same lady, and I kept one. Mine is different, but similar. I am using it to hold a beautiful burgundy candle. It makes for a beautifully unique candle holder!

This cast iron tree stand is 9 " square and has openwork and embossed detailing. It is decorated with Christmas tree boughs. The opening for the tree is 2-1/8", and there are three metal screws. There is some writing on the bottom (I cannot read it) and a triangular tag. This is a very heavy cast iron tree stand - it weighs almost 7 pounds.

This German tree stand is in very good condition for its age. It is nice and sturdy, the metal screws work fine, there are no broken pieces, and the metal does not appear to be deteriorated. The top and bottom have some surface rust. It could use some cleaning - I have not attempted that.
