This beautiful two-piece Japanese lusterware biscuit barrel was handpainted in Japan. The bottom of the base of the biscuit barrel says in dark red: "Gold Castle/Hand Painted/Chikusa/Made in Japan."

The handle is rattan, and the biscuit barrel is decorated with a beautiful little cottage with flowers and trees. I love the gold lustreware and pretty colors used to decorate it.

This piece of lusterware is in excellent condition. I don't see any cracks, chips, repairs, or crazing. Some of the finish around the handle on the top may be worn, but I can't tell for sure. It may have always been that way.

This biscuit barrel is 5" tall without counting the top and handle.
